Deanna Johnson is married C Thomas Johnson and has two children: Michele N Hubbard and Clinton Johnson.
She graduated from Penn State York Campus in 2000 after 30 years of evening classes with a Business - Marketing and Management degree. She subsequently passed the IRS Enrolled Agent certification.
Deanna started attending Salem Church when she was young, and joined the church at age 13. Her late mother, Jane Flayharty, was a leader within the church, and served a vital role in Salem's nursery school, providing a valuable service to our community for many years.
Several years ago, Deanna became a certified lay speaker for the United Methodist denomination. While it was never her intent to serve as a pastor, she found herself doing so when the United Methodist Conference failed to supply Salem with an ordained minister.
For several years, Deanna faithfully provided the congregation with spiritual leadership, weekly messages and pastoral care. Deanna was a key player, along with church leaders, in the recent process of Salem disassociating from the United Methodist Denomination.
Subsequently, the leadership of Salem called Pastor Lanny Kilgore to serve as pastor, and Deanna has continued serving the role of pastoral ministry to congregants who are shut-it, and hospitalized. She also is actively involved on the council of ministries and participates in the morning worship service.
Deanna loves to quilt and travel, spending parts of the winter
at her home in Florida.
